Hillcrest Camera Club - Outing - Shongweni Dam, 29 June 2013
Hi everyone1. Outing: Shongweni Dam - Sat 29th June 2013 Shongweni Dam is a wonderful place to capture nature, together with a magnificent man made structure. The dam wall and the water flowing over it, provides for some interesting water and architectural shots. We hope to get into the tunnel that leads to the other side of the wall, as it provides for some spooky photos. We thought to start with a picnic next to the dam wall. There are picnic spots, as well as braais available. We suggest that you allow for ample time to relax and eat, and soak up the nature around you. Bring whatever food or drink you wish to have. Bring a flask of coffee or tea for later on, when it gets cooler.Feel free to follow the trails around the reserve, and look for buck, zebra and other wildlife.Near to sunset we will move higher and shoot the 'castle', and then end at the Canoe Club, where we will shoot the sunset between the hills and over the dam. The sunsets are awesome - golden sparkles on the water, and some birdlife as the birds return to the reeds and trees for the night.
