Hi everyoneHi all We look forward to seeing everyone’s photo submissions for September. The set subject is “Shadows”, so if you haven’t taken your photo yet, you have this weekend left to shoot! 1. Please EMAIL your photos. Only submit your photos on memory stick as a last resort. Please honour the deadline time. Download "How to Resize and Name your photos" here. 2. Set Subject – ShadowsThis is a challenging subject, as it requires you to look for shadows and to work out what the subject is. Some shadows are vague and indistinct, while some are sharp and defined, depending on the light and sun. Its up to you to determine what will work, and how to present it appropriately. Some examples: 3. Hilton Arts Festival - 15-17 Sept 2017Five reasons why you should attend:1. World Press Photo Exhibition – photos taken by documentary photographers during the year. All the competition winning images are being shown. 2. DocuFest Africa – photographers speaking about their genres. Jodi Beiber, Matt Kay, Masixole Feni (currently exhibiting at KZN Gallery), Paul Weinberg. 3. Matthew Willman – Mandela Exhibition, plus he will be speaking.4. N3 Tourism Exhibition – photographs taken for the competition. 5. Harry Lock – Exhibition “Out of Character”. This is the first year that the Festival is showcasing photography so strongly. As photographers you should expose yourselves to all types and genres, in the pursuit of inspiration and information for your own interest and growth. This will be a perfect opportunity.
