Our meeting on Tuesday will be a Photo Sharing evening and we want you to bring us the best photo that you have taken during the holidays. Thanks again to those that attended and those that submitted their ideas. Photo SharingIt is time to show everyone what you have been up to this holiday season. Did you take some stunning photos along your travels or have you created beautiful photos at home using new techniques. Whatever you have been up to, we want to see the results.So here is what you need to submit:1. Open2. Your Best Holiday Photo3. TroubleshootingPlease submit your photos by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org , or bring 8x10 prints.Email submission closes 8pm on Monday, 16 January, 2012.You can submit photos for either/or Open and Holiday Photos categories. Please only submit 3 photos in total. You may submit only one extra photo in the Troubleshooting section.Size - Maximum of 1024 x 768 pixels, and not more than 600KB per photo. Please do not exceed this limit!!!!Format - Jpeg or TiffLabelling - the file name of each photo must follow this format: Category - Your Name & Surname - Title of Photo e.g. Open - Eve Arnold - Bar Girl.Please make the subject line of the email "January 2012 photo submissions". This will make it easier for Andre to identify the emails and ensure that your photos will be added.Please note: If your photo is incorrectly labelled, or named, and there is no subject line for the email, or it is sent after the deadline it will not be shown.If you miss the deadline for emailing, you can submit photos at the meeting on a memory stick. However, please be considerate and come early. Out of consideration to those who have submitted timeously, we will no longer be accepting submissions after 7PM, once the meeting begins.2. January Outing: Durban City Photo Tour We had many of our members asking that we arrange a repeat of last year's sucessful City Photo Tour, using the People Mover Buses.On Saturday 21st of January we will do a Photo Circuit around town and photograph eight pre-selected subjects. These photos must be printed in Jumbo size, mounted on a board with titles and submitted at the meeting on the 21st of February. This will give you enough time to edit and print your photos.There will be a morning and an afternoon group to give everyone a chance to attend. More details will follow.This has been a fun outing in the past so don't miss out!!3. Photo CompetitionWe have decided to hold a photographic competition that is open to all of our club members. You have until the end of the year to photograph ten subjects. Photographer Eve Arnold dies aged 99 "Eve Arnold, one of the most distinctive and admired photographers of the 20th century, equally renowned for portraits, fashion and photojournalism, and her long working relationship with Marilyn Monroe, has died aged 99, just short of her 100th birthday in April." - the guardian. She had a long and fantastic career as a photographer and even though she was too weak to hold a camera in her later years, she still worked on books of her photographs and exhibitions. She is truly an inspiration and we can all learn from her hard work and dedication.
