2. Set Subject for May: Reflections

This is a fun Set Subject that can make you see the world in a whole new way. From faces reflected in mirrors or glass windows, to reflections in a dam or a puddle
of water. Play around and see what comes out. Turn the image upside down or on its side to create an alternative view. Be creative...

Here is a reminder of the Set Subjects for the rest of the year. Start working on them now and push the limits of your photography.

June: Texture
July: Action
August: Photo assignment: Pick an object and photograph the different parts that make a whole
September: Street Photography
October: Long Exposure
November: Black and White
December: Your Best or Favourite photo of the year
January 2013: Beauty

3. Beginner's Outing Feedback: Makaranga Garden Lodge

The first HCC Beginner's Outing was well supported and enjoyed by all. Members were taught about aperture, and were given pratical instruction on shooting in aperture, and what to expect. The next beginner's outing will cover shutter speed, and will be held in June.

4. Outing for May: Sunset shoot at Umhlanga Pier and Lighthouse

Our outing will be on Saturday, the 26th of May to the Umhlanga Pier and Lighthouse where you will be able to capture great sunset photos and once it becomes dark, you can photograph the surreal blue lights on the pier. This is not an outing to be missed.

More details to follow...

5. Photo Competition

This is a reminder that we are holding a photographic competition that is open to all of our club members. You have until the end of the year to photograph ten subjects. You will then need to print them as Jumbo sized prints, mount them on a board and submit your entries at our last meeting on the 4th of December 2012.

6. Sunny 16 Rule
