Hi everyoneThe Rugby World Cup Final will be played on Sunday and many of our club members stated that they will not be able to attend the Makaranga outing because of it. Therefore we have decided to move the outing to the 30th of October so that everyone can attend. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope that everyone enjoys the rugby.1. Outing: Makaranga Garden Lodge Our October outing will be to Makaranga Garden Lodge, which has beautiful botanical and Japanese gardens. Following is a short description of their gardens."African Pride Makaranga Garden Lodge is situated on a 30 acre lush Private Botanical Garden in The Valley of a Thousand Hills. Our lodge and gardens boast an impressive art collection and guests can wander the wheelchair friendly pathways through the garden to admire the Shona and Italian sculptures set amongst an impressive collection of Camellias, Magnolias and Rhododendrons to mention a few. The Japanese garden features original stone carvings from Japan, and the 18 ponds and waterways are an ideal setting for little bronze statues of Venus, Pan and others."Although there is a charge to take photos in the gardens, we have been given a discounted rate for the day. Please ensure that you are there on time to avoid any payment problems. The restaurant has unfortunately been closed for restoration, but we can meet later at another restaurant that is close to the lodge.Date: Sunday, 30 October 2011Time: 09:00am sharpCost: R20 per personDirections: From Pinetown - Drive up the M13 and take exit 26 (Everton Road / Gillitts) off-ramp.
